Youth Enterprise Exhibition (YEEx) Nigeria with the support of Federal Government of Nigeria’s YouWin Programme, Enterprise Development Center of Pan Atlantic University, Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) is organizing another edition of Youth Enterprise Exhibition (YEEx) Nigeria this December. This edition, tagged “YEEx For Women” is for female entrepreneurs who are either just starting out or have been running their businesses for a while.
The highly competitive business terrain makes it necessary for youth who want to succeed in business to have the edge they need. This is why YEEx Nigeria is committed to giving young entrepreneurs a conducive environment to showcase their products and services, and also provide them with financial, training, mentoring and more opportunities through the support of their partners and sponsors. The 2014 edition is a bumper package as youth exhibitors would have access to meet with experienced personnel in the area of business financing. The theme of the event is: “Growing the 21st Century Young Women Enterprise.”
YEEx For Women is FREE to attend and is open to both men and women. However, interested exhibitors would pay a N15,000 registration fee to showcase their products and services. Another major attraction of the event is the Networking Lounge where attendees will have the opportunity to relate with successful entrepreneurs who would serve as mentors and a host of successful YouWIN! Winners.
Dame Abimbola Fashola (First Lady of Lagos State) will be the Special Guest of Honour at the event. Also, Dr. Gloria Elemo (Director General/CEO, Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO)) and Olushola Oworu (Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry); and many other successful individuals are expected to grace the event.
Exhibitors also have the opportunity to launch new products and services, meet with financial institutions, angel investors and venture capitalists for possible equity investment. They also get useful media and brand exposure through the exclusive brochure that would be designed for the purpose of the event and widely distributed.

‘Students from third-level schools, universities and colleges all over the world are invited to submit their innovative ideas.
This competition will give the participants an opportunity to gain a foothold in the business world, while also earning recognition from top leaders and making contacts within the telecoms industry. The top teams will also receive invaluable business coaching and technical insights from our experienced industry professionals.
The theme for this year’s EIA is ‘Learning’, focusing on how to make learning opportunities more accessible… For example, innovating around the tools needed when lifelong learning becomes necessary for everyone, or creating new tools and methodologies when learning becomes an online activity, moving away from school buildings.’
Prizes to be won are:
- First prize: EUR 25 000
- Second prize: EUR 10 000

CBN Announces Naira Devaluation | Exchange Rate is N168 to One U.S Dollar
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday in Abuja announced devaluation of Naira by N13 as part of measures the bank said were aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed the devaluation to newsmen after a meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee.
Emefiele explained that under the new arrangement, the Naira would now exchange for N168 instead of the old official rate of N155 to one U.S. dollar.
He said the meeting also decided to increase the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by 100 basis point from 12 percent to 13 percent.
The MPR is the rate at which banks borrow from the Central Bank to cover their immediate cash shortfalls.
The higher the cost of such borrowing, the higher the rate at which banks advance credit to customers.
Emefiele noted that there was an increase in Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) on private sector deposits by 500 basis point from 15 percent to 20 percent.
The CRR is a monetary tool used to either call up excess liquidity or release funds needed for the growth of the economy as situation demands.
He further said that the public sector CRR will be retained at the current level of 75 percent and the symmetric corridor of plus or minus 200 basis points around the MPR will be maintained.
“The public sector should be retained at 75 percent and foreign exchange trading position should also be retained at 1 percent,’’ Emefiele said.
The CBN governor said the decision to lower the value of Naira against the Dollar was to strengthen the currency.

Big Brother Hotshots: Desmond Elliot & More Take “One Campaign” to the House | 2 Weeks Left to the Big Win!
Desmond Elliot and guests from the One Campaign entered the Big Brotherhouse earlier on this week to discuss agriculture a career option and an overall interest area for young people.
The visitors who facilitated the educational session were One Campaign Executive, Dr. Sipho Moyo, Former Miss Universe, Mpule Kwelagobe, and Commissioner Tumusiime Rhoda Peace. The session was aimed at finding ways to change the image of agriculture, amplifying a sector that the African youth wasn’t interested in looking at and making money through Agriculture.
The Eviction Show
In other news..Biggie’s biggest-ever prank was revealed on Sunday night’s (23 November) Big Brother Hotshots show, as he summoned the former housemates from the house and revealed his plan to the extremely-relieved Hotshots housemates. Nobody was evicted from the game – but with two weeks left before the winner of that USD300 000 prize is announced, its time to get serious.
Last Sunday, Big Brother introduced ten former housemates into the game, telling the Hotshots housemates that they would be competing against their countrymen for viewer votes during the course of this week, to see who viewers would prefer to keep in the game. In went Feza, Sulu, Miss P, Natasha, Uti,Vimbai, Elikem, Denzel, Leonel and Luclay, with a brief to cause as much drama as possible. Their presence really rattled the Hotshots, and the returning housemates delivered some serious action with arguments, fake drunk acting and even, on Denzel’s part, a naked dive-bomb into the Jacuzzi.
In the midst of all the drama, Big Brother kept up the façade with normal house rules in play – putting Trezagah up for automatic nomination after he failed to freeze under instructions and tying Sheillah & Nhlanhla together for 48 hours for talking to each other without their microphones.
IK got down to business, calling former housemates Vimbai, Luclay and Feza out of the house first. After they had joined him on stage, he returned to the house again and summoned Hotshots Tayo, Ellah & Sipe for an eviction which they thought ended their time on the show – but turned out to be part of the prank. Once all the former housemates had joined IK on stage, he revealed the prank to the Hotshots and explained that everything the former housemates had done, had been under instruction from Big Brother – so no hard feelings.
Before letting them go, IK reminded them that there are just two weeks left in the game and that it’s time to cast aside friendships and focus on eliminating the competition. Since there was no Extravaganza task this week to win immunity, every housemate, bar the winner of Monday’s Head of House Task, is eligible for nomination and possible eviction during next Sunday’s show.
IK also announced the winner of the ChannelO Best Hotshot #TIA track, which had seen both current and former housemates pairing up to compose songs about countries on the continent. With the votes in, it was Nhlanhla and Luclay who delivered the best track, meaning that Nhlanhla wins a trip to the country he sang about – Nigeria – to the value of R40 000.
South African Hip Hop giant K.O. took to the stage twice, to open and close the show. He led with ‘Caracara’, featuring Kid X and closed things out with ‘Son of a Gun’.

She rocked her natural hair and admitted that she used to wear her hair natural when she was younger on her show “Sister, Sister” with her twin Tia, but when she reached adulthood she reached for a straightener. After having some difficulty with her natural hair, she decided to go for the big chop.
She looks so great and her husband, Adam Housley, thinks so too. She shared how he loves her look saying “My husband loves my hair like this. He would rather me wear my hair curly all day every day than to straighten it. And that makes me feel great“.
